There are many different ways to practice learning words other than just saying them aloud or writing them on paper. Be creative and have fun! Here are some examples:
-Write on a steamy mirror after taking a bath
-If you have dusty furniture, have your child write in the dust and then dust your furniture
-Write words in the dirt or sand box with a stick
-Put dry Jell-O on a pan and write the words
-Write on a plate smeared with pudding
-Circle words in newspapers or magazines
-Write the words with crayons, markers, paint, etc.
-Practice while getting ready for school, at breakfast, in the car, while taking a bath, etc.
-Type each word on the computer 3 times
-Write each word on black construction paper using chalk
-Write all of your words in ABC order
-Create a word search with your words
-Make word triangles with each word

-Write your words forwards and then backwards
-Write words 2 times each and draw a :) instead of vowels
-Write words in order from the shortest to the longest
-Translate spelling words into a phone number using the phone keypad
Ex. stay (7829)
-Write a sentence for each of your words
-Write a story using as many of your words as you can. Write your spelling words in a different color.
