Flashlight Friday

Next Friday (3-2-12), we will have "Flashlight Friday”. Please send in a small flashlight with your child on this day. Your child will have the opportunity to read books in the dark with his/her classmates and we may possibly read books in the dark with our 5th grade book buddies. The students are excited about this activity. Thank you :)

Scholastic Books

I am sending home a Scholastic book order form home with your child today. If you are interested in ordering any books, please return the form and money back to school on or before 2/24. Please make checks payable to Scholastic. Thank you!

Reading Log

FYI: I did not send home a reading log for February. If your child read at least 45 minutes each week, please send me a note and I'll be glad to give the free pizza coupon to your child. I do plan to send home a March reading log very soon. March is the last month that students will have the opportunity to earn a free pizza coupon.

Transportation Survey

Transportation Survey: Parents may review the potential changes for their school, answer survey questions and leave their own comments and suggestions by clicking on the large "Transportation Survey" button on the WCPSS website's front page. BRES will be impacted by 10 minutes in the morning and the afternoon. Currently, our instructional bell rings at 9:15 a.m. This means that students are expected to be in their classrooms so instruction can begin. With the new proposal, our instructional bell would ring at 9:25 a.m. and our dismissal bell would ring at 3:55 p.m. Carpool would begin by 4:00 p.m. Buses would be on campus ready for loading at 3:55 p.m. Please be sure to give your feedback by taking the online survey.
